2 Corinthians 9:6-8. Here’s my point. A stingy sower will reap a meagre harvest, but the one who sows from a generous spirit will reap an abundant harvest. Let giving flow from your heart, not from a sense of religious duty. Let it spring up freely from the joy of giving—all because God loves hilarious generosity! Yes, God is more than ready to overwhelm you with every form of grace, so that you will have more than enough of everything—every moment and in every way. He will make you overflow with abundance in every good thing you do. (The Passion) Giving can be offering, tithe, and vow. It is a willing act of the believer according to his understanding of the love of God. Offering is what you give in fellowship and church services to honour God. Tithe preceded the Law of Moses and it was 10% of their harvest or income. Abraham gave a tenth of all to Melchizedek after, he (Melchizedek) had given him bread and wine (Holy Communion symbolizing the finished works of Christ that brought salvation). Abraham after receiving the bread and wine gave tithe willingly to the priest in response. (Genesis 14:18-20) Melchizedek was acting Jesus. (Hebrews 5:5-6.) While Abraham acted on behalf of mankind. (Hebrews 7:1-19). Melchizedek offered Abraham salvation and he responded by giving 10% in appreciation. It shows the faith of Abraham in the salvation he has received. Tithe, in Glory House, is an amount you planned in your heart to give from your regular income to help in the maintenance and running of the church. It could be 10%, 15%, 30% according to your capacity and 18 faith in Him. Just as citizens of this country pay taxes to develop the country, based on the faith they have in the government, so we, as citizens of heaven give to expand our kingdom. A vow is a special contribution you give towards a project or program in Church. It is also what you have decided in your heart to do or give to enhance the work of the kingdom. Every giver is laying up riches for himself in heaven. Luke 12:21. Believers did not give God the Father anything before he gave His only begotten son Jesus to die for our sin. (See John 3:16) It was based on love therefore we give sacrificially, based on the understanding of the love of God towards us and according to our capacity. We don’t give to be blessed, we are already blessed, and that is why will give to meet needs in the church. Sacrificial Giving is our lifestyle in Glory House gospel church.
